The Association Kornets Hus
The Food Culture House, The Association Kornets Hus, Wanted A Strong & Flexible Network
Cisco Meraki Wireless
In the middle of a grain field in Hjørring is The Association Kornets Hus, a food culture house that has grain as its focal point. They work to strengthen baking and food traditions. They want to provide an overall picture of and understanding of agricultural history. And not least, how to use the grain and make quality foods based on grains.
”We are a grassroots movement that has been working on the idea for 10-12 years with the grain as a starting point.” Four or five years ago, some foundations became interested in creating an experience center, namely Realdania and Nordea.
Today, we have a budget of 30 million, ”says Johannes Vestergaard, Center Manager at Kornets Hus. The ambitions have always been the same: The Association Kornets Hus must be an attraction for locals, as well as for tourists. An experience center where guests can bake and learn about cereals. An activity culture house that everyone can visit.
”It ended with five AP’s, which ensure that there is always full coverage, no matter where you may be in the food culture house”. According to Johannes Vestergaard
The Association Kornets Hus – The Network MUST Be A Good Experience
Great Demands For A Good And Stable Network
Today, The house can be rented for various events. In addition to meeting rooms, the house houses dissemination activities, school services, gastro kitchen and a café. But, it also means that there are great demands for a good and stable network. As visitors expect to be able to get online.
“Hence, we wanted to be able to offer our guests a good experience on the wireless network. That is why we have three networks: one for the employees, one for the visitors and one that drives access to our media, eg. our big screens. ”explains Johannes Vestergaard.
Lytzen IT was in close dialogue with the project management during the construction of Kornets Hus. And already at the drawing level it was decided where it was appropriate to place the wireless connection points, AP’s.
“We had a very close dialogue with the project manager at The Association Kornets Hus. We positioned the wireless connection points, the AP’s, optimally so that they provided the best coverage both indoors and outdoors, for guests as well as for employees in The House. But at the same time, we also had to ensure good coverage for everyone during the construction of the building. ”explains Linda Lynge Kjær, Account Manager at Lytzen IT.
“It was important because we had to ensure our customers the best coverage both outdoors and indoors.” says Johannes Vestergaard. We got five AP’s, which ensure that there is always full coverage, no matter where you may be in the food culture house.
“In addition, Cisco Meraki Wireless is a great solution for a customer like The Association Kornets Hus. As it is easy to operate, even when you do not have any definite IT skills in the house.”according to Linda Lynge Kjær.
It is so easy to manage your own network
The solution that Lytzen IT chose to implement in The Association Kornets Hus, was a Cisco Meraki Wireless installation. It is an intuitive solution and an obvious option for those who want to be able to manage their network themselves.
“In addition, Cisco Meraki Wireless is a great solution for a customer like The Association Kornets Hus. It is easy to operate, even when you do not have any definite IT skills in the house.”according to Linda Lynge Kjær.
At the same time, The Association Kornets Hus and Cisco Meraki are a perfect match. As they are both very innovative. “It’s a really smart solution.
I have a dashboard from which I can see who is logging in and when. This is also where we can change the network if need be, but I have not needed it yet. That’s why I’m really happy with our dashboard. It can be difficult and intimidating to have to look at a switch, ”according to Johannes Vestergaard.
Also, from this dashboard, The Association Kornets Hus has the ability to troubleshoot and see if there is a network that is not running. “It is very easy to set up, manage and to get an overview,” says Johannes Vestergaard.
But it is precisely their local anchoring that is important. They have been very committed to The Association Kornets Hus and have put a lot of pride in providing a great solution.
The Association Kornets Hus – A Local Project
A Food Culture House Like The Association Kornets Hus Is Largely A Local Project. And Johannes Vestergaard Is Extra Happy to Use Lytzen IT
“Lytzen IT are local and have several departments throughout the country. But it is precisely their local anchoring that is important. They have been very committed and have put a lot of pride in providing a great solution. They helped to make it a locally based project, ”according to Johannes Vestergaard.
Also, he has experienced that Lytzen IT goes above and beyond. “They were really good at stopping by. And it was clearly an advantage for us that they were local,” says Johannes Vestergaard.
The solution is still new, but he feels convinced that it is a really great solution for their needs. Lytzen IT has assigned The Association Kornets Hus a dedicated Account Manager as well as access to technical resources. These resources are always ready to answer their questions or log on to their network and help with any troubleshooting.
“It is important for us to maintain a close dialogue with our customers. We see ourselves as a partner and not just as a supplier. Thus, we place emphasis on solving the task together and finding the optimal solution together with the customer and not for the customer, ”explains Linda Lynge Kjær, and concludes:
“We make sure to collaborate from start to finish and of course also afterwards. We always strive to create a long-term relationship. ”
